Royal Golf Club

Royal Links was built to honor the rich history and tradition of the game of golf. Designed by Dye International, this links-style course features holes inspired by eleven different British Open rotation courses, including the Road Hole and Hell Bunker from the Old Course at St. Andrews and the Postage Stamp from Royal Troon. Other courses in the loop include Carnoustie, Turnberry, Royal Liverpool, Prestwick, Royal Lytham, Muirfield and Royal Birkdale.Monuments were erected at various locations throughout the golf course indicating the spots where great moments in British Open history took place. A Champions Wall stands near the all-turf practice range honoring American champions of the British Open.
Golfers may choose to engage the services of a professional forecaddie adding to the “Scottish” experience. These forecaddies are knowledgable about the history of each hole, as well the location of the 108 pot bunkers, some of which are hidden. Walking caddies are also available and are required for those who choose to walk.

Royal Links was recognized as the “Best Course in Las Vegas” in the 2006 Review Journal “Best Of Vegas” poll and one of “America’s BEST Courses” by GolfWeek.

Located less than 20 short minutes from the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, the castle-style clubhouse hosts a nationally recognized golf shop, which was ranked as one of “American’s Best 100 Golf Shops” in 2004 & 2005 by GolfWorld Business. It is stocked with name brand apparel, equipment, quality art and collectables. The shop also offer rentals of the Callaway X2 HOT clubs and FootJoy shoes.

The clubhouse is also home to Stymie’s Pub, an authentic re-creation of a British pub, serving traditional fare like fish and chips, bangers, as well as breakfasts, salads and sandwiches. An on-course beverage cart service is also available. An English style call box is available at the 9th tee, providing golfers the opportunity to order lunch as they make the turn, or to have the meal delivered to them on the course.

Adding some gaming excitement to the round, Royal Links offers a “Beat The Pro” challenge for all golfers who wish to test their skill against course personnel on a Par 3 “closest to the hole” contest for merchandise credit in the golf shop.

Royal Links Golf Club is also features the ParMates program, a female caddy service that was designed to add a unique extra experience to your round of golf.

What they are saying about Royal Links Golf Club

  • “This clever gimmick could have failed if Dye had just splashed an independent collection of all-star holes across the acreage, but instead, he chose some relatively obscure Open venue holes to balance the famous ones, thus forming a seamless fit.” Golf Magazine, 2008
  • “If you can’t get to the U.K, head to this collection of the ‘best holes from the great British Open courses’” that’s “wonderfully fun” with its”huge pot bunkers, unusual rough, and traditionally garbed caddies.” – Zagat,2007/2008
  • “If you live outside of the Las Vegas area you should make a point of visiting just to play this course. It is well worth it.” – West Coast Golfer, 2008

  • “Few Americans golfers ever have a chance to play a British Open course and only the game’s elite have played most of them, but you can enjoy a vacation in America’s favorite destination and play the very best of the British Open layout on just one course.” - GolfWeek, May 2007
  • “When compared with the courses in North America, it’s unique and highly special. If you do wish to experience and enjoy a really original British golf course, I suggest you try this course out. Your joy is guaranteed.” - Golf Nerve (Chinese), Summer 2007
  • “It is well worth your time to visit Royal Links. You will not be disappointed in any way.” – West Coast Golfer, 2007

Parmates

Golf Digest Feature

On the Parmates of Royal Links Golf Club in the December 2011 Issue

golf-digest-parmatesBY MATT GINELLA, GOLF DIGEST MAGAZINE PHOTO BY JOHN LOOMIS GOLF DIGEST | December 2011 Royal links Golf Club is supposed to look familiar. The course is a collection of holes based on the British Open rota and also features a statue of Old Tom Morris, a tribute to the Swilcan Bridge and a massive claret jug. But don’t be surprised to see some less-familiar sights, too–like a leggy brunette in a short skirt and tight shirt. Monica Echazabal, 32, has been a ParMate since 2009.golf-digest-parmates-caddiesFor $225 per Par Mate plus tip (generally another $100), the caddie promises to shave five strokes off your usual score. “But only if you listen to me,” Echazabal says. “And sometimes it’s difficult for men to listen to women.” Echazabal is one of 50 Par Mates working at Royal Links and Bali Hai, both owned by Walters Golf. “We’re your ambassadors of fun,” she says, “and we take that seriously.” Which is what you’d expect for almost $100 an hour. golf-digest-parmates-monicaParMates perform most of the typical duties of a caddie. They don’t carry your bag–that goes on your cart–but they do clean your clubs, read greens, rake bunkers, repair ball marks and replace divots. Late in the round, when money is on the line, they have been known to strike provocative poses to distract your opponent. Says Echazabal: “We keep the energy up, change the dynamic of the group, and we realize there’s an entertainment aspect to it.” She gets the occasional golfer who assumes the course is basically a brothel with bunkers. “Some guys ask me how much it would cost to see my chest,” she says. “I tell them this is the town to see bare chests, but right now we’re here to play golf. It’s a golf course, and there’s etiquette. One guy asked if he could climb down into the bunker with me. I said, ‘Dude, I will beat you with this rake.’ ” As for her game, Echazabal says she can break 100. “Most of my good rounds are at Royal Links,” she says, “because I know the shortcuts and the greens.” Want to hire a ParMate?
